Field experience is a dynamic learning opportunity for social work students. At Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota, we’re dedicated to providing you with an MSW field placement that is accessible and engaging.

Saint Mary’s maintains MSW field placements across the U.S. Regardless of which state you reside in, our MSW Field Education Coordinators can connect you with a vetted location. For each student, we strive to find at least three social work field placement opportunities that align with their availability and career goals.

Virtual Agency Placements

If your unique needs make finding a placement challenging, virtual agency placements may be considered. Our MSW Field Education Coordinators will work with you one-on-one to determine the best placement option.

Employment-Based Field Practicums

Many MSW online students participate in employment-based field practicums. This unique opportunity allows you to apply your role within an eligible employment agency to the MSW fieldwork requirements, which is ideal for working professionals pursuing a degree. If this is an option for you, we’ll coordinate the details with your employer.
